NEW CLIENT PROTOCOLS at I HEART TATTOOS

Public health and safety and the health and safety of our staff has always been our priority at I Heart Tattoos. We have already trained and have worked with various forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) and have maintained an exceptionally safe environment to avoid

exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. We also have a strong understanding of cross-contamination and have always used intermediate level disinfectants in our sanitation process at our studio.

Our return to work highly depends on new protocols and the cooperation of our clients. Not only will you be keeping other clients and our staff safe, but you will also be protecting our industry from another closure. At I Heart Tattoos we go above and beyond to keep you safe, please return the favour and respect our new guidelines.

Take careful thought in reading the following.

If any of the following apply to you or someone you have been in close contact with, please reschedule your appointment immediately. There will be no penalty for rescheduling your appointment due to illness. However, please be aware that we will not reschedule your appointment until you have been symptom free for 14 days.

  • Fever

  • chills

  • cough

  • sore throat

  • shortness of breath

  • chest pain

  • diarrhea

  • Travel out of province in the last 14 days

We will not be accepting cash for our services. We will be accepting Debit and Credit only.

At the studio, we are unable to offer a locker for you to keep your belongings in, like we have offered in the past. Please limit the amount of personal items you bring and keep them in a bag, purse or backpack. Make sure you are well fed before your appointment as we are unable to allow clients to eat in the studio at this time. We will however allow non-alcoholic drinks to be brought to your appointment. Please bring any recyclable bottles home with you. In the event that you have an all day appointment, we will allow time for you to leave the studio for a period of time and have lunch. Please do not bring a friend to your appointment as we will have a capacity limit to ensure that we can properly socially distance from other clients and staff in the shop.

Social distancing is one of the key factors to keeping us safe. Please ensure to socially distance yourself at every possible opportunity while you are in the tattoo studio. As tattooing is a personal service and it is required that your artist comes into contact with you, we recognize that social distancing is not possible. The use of non-medical face masks are a requirement for all staff and clients in our studio for this reason.

The entrance to our studio will remain unlocked and propped open during business hours. If you notice someone is currently at the reception desk, please mind their space and stay located on our social distancing stickers in the hall.

Upon arrival at your appointment, please first use hand sanitizer and fit a mask properly to your face by fitting the loops around your ears and pinching it around your nose. There is a world wide shortage in disposable masks, if you have your own reusable mask please bring it to your appointment. To encourage people to bring their own mask we are now charging $2 per mask. After this, please refrain from touching your face. Masks must be worn at all times in our studio, do not take it off during your appointment. The use of a face mask can feel quite clinical and potentially be uncomfortable for some people for prolonged periods of time. If this is the case for you, we encourage you to use your own buff, especially for men with beards where a face mask may not fit correctly. If you have long hair, please tie it back in a half or full ponytail to prevent unnecessary touching of the face. We are unable to offer a waiting room during these times, so please refrain from coming early to your appointment.

Once you have sanitized and put a face mask on, follow your artist to their tattoo station, where they will further guide you through your appointment.

We have new client chairs. If you way more than 300lbs (136kg), please let us know. We have different furniture to accommodate you.
